Welcome to the Virginia Horseshoers Association (VHA) web
site. The purpose of the VHA is to organize and promote excellence in the
art and science of farriery and to define, maintain and improve
the quality of craftsmanship and the standard of ethics within
the association.
The VHA works to promote and encourage further education of the farrier. The
VHA sponsors educational clinics, both hands-on and lecture series as well as
various competitions to aid the farrier in their forge work. Attending VHA
sponsored events will help the farrier learn about new techniques, products and
processes.
The VHA strongly supports and encourages fellowship within the
association. Opportunities available to members of the VHA can be very
rewarding; not only to established farriers but to those just getting started in
the industry.
The VHA is a chapter member of the American Farriers
Association and as such, offers
AFA certification testing to all members who are
interested in pursuing their certification.
The association does not interfere with a farrier's clientele,
territory or prices.
